WHO ARE WE
The World Gospel Mission engages Christlike disciples to transform the world. It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like
VISION
Transformed people transforming communities to transform the world.
Our philosophy of ministry is all about sending transformed people into the communities of the world so they can be instruments in the hands of God to bring about transformation. God has always used His βcalled outβ ones to transform the world. He first transforms their lives and then calls them out to go into a lost world to transform others. In Joel 2:28, He promised to pour out His Spirit unto us, and, as a result, our young men and women will see visions and our old men and women will dream dreams. God has given us a dream! This dream is to double the impact of World Gospel Mission in the next five years. Our impact is measured in the transformation of lives. In order to be true to our Vision Statement, this will mean that we will need to place more transformed people in communities around our globe. Doubling our impact will mean that we will need to double the number of missionaries.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe:
in the absolute authority of the Bible.
in one God, eternally existent in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit..
in the full humanity and the full divinity of Jesus Christ.
that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is essential for the salvation of the human soul.
in the present and personal ministry of the Holy Spirit, purifying and enabling Christians to live holy lives.
all people have sinned.
God created man in His own image to reflect His glory.
that the Church is the body of Christ made up of all who trust in and obey Him
that the Churchβs purpose is to worship God, reach those without Christ, and nurture believers.
in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in the resurrection of all who believe in Him to life eternal.
in Jesus Christβs personal return in power and glory.
in the absolute authority of the Bible.
That both Old and New Testaments constitute the divinely inspired Word of God, inerrant in the originals, and the final authority for life and truth.
That there is one God, eternally existent in the Holy Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with personality and deity
That the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, manifested in the flesh through the virgin birth, died on Calvary and rose again for the redemption of the human family, all of whom may be saved from sin through faith in Him
That man, although created by God in His own image and likeness, fell into sin through disobedience and βso death passed upon all men, for that all have sinnedβ (Romans 5:12)
In the salvation of the human soul, including the new birth, and in a subsequent work of God in the soul, normally known as entire sanctification, a crisis wrought by faith, whereby the heart is cleansed from all sin and filled with the Holy Spirit. This gracious experience is retained by faith as expressed in a constant obedience to Godβs revealed will, thus giving us perfect cleansing moment by moment (I John 1:7β9). We stand for the Wesleyan position.
That the church is the body of Christ; that all who are united by faith to Christ are members of the same; and that, having thus become members one of another, it is our solemn and covenant duty to fellowship with one another in peace and to love one another with pure and fervent hearts.
That the purpose for the church is threefold: worship of the triune God, nurture of those within the fellowship, and planned outreach to people who do not yet know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Until Jesus Christ establishes His kingdom on earth, the church should emphasize the power of the Holy Spirit to cleanse, empower, and motivate its members to be active witnesses for Jesus both at home and to the uttermost part of the earth.
That our Lord Jesus Christ in His literal resurrection from the dead is the living guarantee of the resurrection of all human beings: the believing saved to conscious eternal joy and the unbelieving lost to conscious eternal punishment.
CORE VALUES
Passionate Prayer
We will pray, knowing that God will answer our prayers. We will pray for more workers, for His guidance and provision in our lives and ministries, and for the pouring out of His empowering Spirit to accomplish His will. βAsk, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.β (Matthew 7:7 NKJV) βTherefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.β (Luke 10:2 ESV)
We will not settle for less than passionate, faith-filled prayer.
Personal Holiness
We will live the lives that God intends us to liveβlives that are victorious over sinβand we will seek to lead others into this scriptural Christlike lifestyle. βBe ye holy; for I am holy.β (1 Peter 1:16b KJV) ββ¦present your bodies a living and holy sacrificeβ¦. And do not be conformed to this worldβ¦.β (Romans 12:1,2 NASB)
We will not settle for less than fully surrendered, Christlike lives.
Stewardship with Accountability
We will use His resources for the purposes He intends. This is a call to excellence. This is a call to the development and sustainability of those resources which God entrusts to us. βWhatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.β (Colossians 3:23 NIV)
We will not settle for less than the best use of Godβs resources.
Wholistic Transformation
We will allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives, the lives of those we touch and their communities, and the world in which we live.ββ¦but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.β (Romans 12:2 NASB)We will not settle for less than total transformation.
